Control Kora from your phone
Kora pairs your phone with the desktop app through a QR code. The phone opens the same Kora interface in its browser — no app to install — and stays in sync with the active desktop session while you drive it remotely.
Pair your phone
Section titled “Pair your phone”- Open Settings → Mobile Pairing in Kora Desktop.
- Select Show QR.
- Scan the code with your phone camera. The remote page opens in the phone browser.
The QR is valid for a few minutes. Generate a new one any time from the same tab; generating a new code invalidates the previous link.
What you can do from the phone
Section titled “What you can do from the phone”The remote page shows the active desktop session, and every control works on the desktop session:
- Send prompts and stop the running task.
- Switch sessions or start a new one from the session drawer.
- Choose the provider and model from the picker in the composer.
- Change the execution mode — ask, plan, debug, or build — and the token optimization mode. Each selector opens a bottom sheet with the same options and one-line descriptions as the composer on the desktop.
- Follow streaming replies, tool activity, and reasoning phases as they happen.
How syncing works
Section titled “How syncing works”The phone and the desktop stay mirrored in both directions:
- Changes you make on the phone are applied to the desktop session.
- Changes made on the desktop — a different model, a mode switch, a different optimization mode, another active session — appear on the phone without reloading.
- The context usage ring in the header mirrors the desktop context indicator.
The desktop app remains the source of truth and keeps working normally while the phone is connected.
Session and link lifetime
Section titled “Session and link lifetime”- The link keeps working for about six hours; reopen the same URL to continue where you left off.
- Restarting the desktop app does not break the link — the phone reconnects on its own.
- Select Stop in the Mobile Pairing tab to revoke the link; the phone page shows the session as ended.
- One phone is connected at a time per link.
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- Kora Desktop running on macOS with an internet connection.
- A valid Kora key connected on the desktop (the feature is marked Premium).
- A phone with a browser and a camera. No Kora account is needed on the phone.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- The phone stays on “Connecting…” → the desktop app is closed or offline → open Kora Desktop, reopen Settings → Mobile Pairing, and generate a new QR.
- The phone shows “Session expired” → the link’s recovery window has passed → generate a new QR and scan it again.
- The remote page looks outdated after an update → the browser kept an older copy → reload the page; Kora picks up the current version automatically.
- A second phone cannot join → a link hosts one phone → close the page on the other phone or generate a new QR.
