Focus the editor

Use Focus to give the current real file more space without leaving the workspace or opening a separate full-screen editor.

Enter and leave Focus

• Select Focus from the active file’s tab, or right-click a file in the File Explorer and select Focus. The Explorer action opens the file and focuses it in one step.
• Select the Focus control again to restore the preceding Dockview layout.

Focus maximizes the current editor group. Its other file tabs remain available, and unsaved work stays in the same workspace. Focus is not available for terminal, chat, diff, or virtual-file tabs.

If you close the active file while other file tabs remain, Focus continues on the newly active file. Closing the last file exits Focus.

Browse files while focused

Select the folder button in the focused tab to open the auxiliary Explorer on the right. It is non-modal: you can use it and the editor together.

The auxiliary Explorer includes project search and the file tree. Select a file to make it active while keeping Focus. Close the drawer from its own control, the tab’s folder button, or by clicking outside it.

It reuses the main Explorer state, so folder expansion, selection, search, and scroll position are retained.

Troubleshooting

• Focus is unavailable → the active tab is not a real project file. Open a file from the File Explorer first.
• Focus closes unexpectedly → the last open file was closed. Open another file and select Focus again.
• The project tree is not visible → select the folder button in the focused tab to open the auxiliary Explorer.
